PIW intervista Timothy Adams dei Rome Emperors: “Max Pescatori è un grande capitano”

Dopo l’intervista fatta a Max Pescatori, abbiamo scambiato due chiacchiere anche con Timothy Adams, player canadese del team azzurro dei Rome Emperors. Con lui abbiamo parlato di Global Poker League, Wsop e di ‘Soccer’.

Timothy Adams come sappiamo dal 2014, a Vegas, in contemporanea con le Wsop, organizza un torneo di calcio per giocatori e non, intitolato World Cup of Vegas Soccer. Torneo che fino ad oggi non hai mai visto scendere in campo una squadra italiana e nemmeno un solo giocatore azzurro, e purtroppo nemmeno per quest’anno cambierà qualcosa. Ma con Tim abbiamo ovviamente parlato anche di Global Poker League e del suo rapporto con gli altri membri del team, lui, che è assieme al Todd Brunson, è lo straniero del gruppo. Ci ha poi rivelato i suoi piani per le Wsop, dove si concentrerà più sul cash che sui braccialetti.

So che anche quest’anno organizzerai la World Cup of Vegas Soccer. Sai se quest’anno ci sarà un team italiano o alcuni giocatori azzurri che giocheranno per qualche altra ‘nazionale’? (I know u are going to make another World Cup of Vegas Soccer. Do you know if this year there is goinig to be an italian team o some italian players are going to enjoy other team nations?)

Quest’anno organizzerò la mia terza edizione della World Cup of Vegas Soccer. Dunque sono molto eccitato. Sfortunatamente non ho avuto notizie dagli italiani, non creeranno una squadra e la cosa mi dispiace un pochino, perché so che a giocare a calcio sono bravi. (I will be creating the World Cup of Vegas for the 3rd year this year. So I am excited. Unfortunately I haven’t heard from any Italians about creating a team frown which is too bad because I hear they are very good at soccer.)

I Rome Emperors non hanno iniziato alla grande la Global Poker League, come te lo spieghi? (Rome Emperors did not start in the best way, why?)

Penso che siamo stati sfortunati. Nel poker c’è tanta varianza e fortuna, e sfortunatamente siamo stati molto sfortunati fino ad ora. Il format della GPL prevede dei sit-and-go, con una struttura veloce e dunque la varianza è tanta. Abbiamo tuttavia un buon team e spero che faremo meglio. (I think the Rome Emperors have been very unlucky. In poker there is a lot of variance and luck and unfortunately we have gotten very unlucky so far. In the GPL it is a sit-and-go format which means there is a lot of fast structures and a lot of variance. We have a good team and I hope we can do better in the futrure.)

Come sono i rapporti con gli altri membri del team Rome Emperors? (How is your relationship with the other members of the team Rome Emperors?)

Ci sentiamo via chat, dove scherziamo e parliamo di strategia. Max Pescatori è un grande capitano. E’ sempre positivo e vuole davvero vincere. Spero che inizieremo a vincere di più, per noi e per i nostri fans. (We have a group chat. There is also a lot of joking around and also we talk a little strategy too. Max is a great captain as well. He is very positive and he really wants to win. I hope we can start winning more for our Rome Emperors team and fans.)

Parli con i tuoi compagni o altri della Global Poker League? Cosa ne pensi di questo format dopo queste prime settimane? (Do you talk about Global Poker League togher with yout team mate o players of other teams? What is your opinion of the Global Poker League in general, afeter all this weeks?)

Penso che la GPL fino ad ora sia stata davvero interessante e tanto divertente. Non vedo l’ora di poter andare a Las Vegas per giocare le Summer Heat Series. (I think the GPL has been very interesting so far and a lot of fun. I am looking forward to going to Vegas and playing the “Summer Series”.)

Quali sono i tuoi piani per Las Vegas? (What are you plans for Las Vegas?)

A Vegas mi concentrerò principalmente sul cash game. Di solito preferisco giocare high-stakes cash game e in Vegas c’è tanta azione. Giocherò inoltre i tornei Wsop più importanti. Principalmente il $10k Heads-Up, $5k 6-max, $10k 6-max, e $10k Main Event. (I plan on going to Vegas and mainly focusing on cash games. I usually prefer high-stakes cash games and in Vegas there is a lot of action. I will also play some big WSOP tournaments. Mainly the $10k Heads-Up, $5k 6-max, $10k 6-max, and $10k Main Event.)

Ultima, so che sei stato a Rome, è l’unica città italiana che hai visitato? Cosa ti è piaciuto di più dell’Italia? (Last, i know you have been in Rome, is the only italian city you have visited? What did you like most of Italy?)

Sono stato in diversi posti in Italia. Sono stato a Venezia, San Remo, Roma, Firenze e Siena. L’Italia è stupenda e amo la vostra cultura, i paesaggi meravigliosi e il cibo ovviamente. Sfortunatamente, nel 2014, io e la mia ragazza, siamo stati derubati quando eravamo in visita al Colosseo. Era la domenica di Pasqua. Quando finimmo la nostra visita, al ritorno la nostra macchina era stata aperta e ci aveva derubato delle nostre cose. Quindi, abbiamo alcuni brutti ricordi di Roma, ma ovviamente ne abbiamo anche di belli. (I have been to multiple places in Italy. I have been to Venice, San Remo, Rome, Florence, and Siena. It is beautiful in Italy and I love the culture, the landscape, and the food. Unfortunately in 2014 my girlfriend and I were visiting the Colosseum on Easter Sunday and we came back to our car and everything we stolen. So we have a few bad memories of Rome but also we have a lot of good memories as well.)
